I was born and raised in Calgary. The "fashion bug" bit early so there was no doubt what I wanted to study after high school. Post graduation, I made my way to Los Angeles and received a degree in Fashion Merchandising. The next six years were spent in Toronto as a booking agent for some of Canada's top female models, setting up fashion editorial layouts, advertising campaigns, runway, and catalog shoots. From there, I branched out into booking hair and makeup artists and at the peak of my booking career in Canada, I was offered and accepted a "dream job" with Click Model Management in New York City. That was definitely the highlight of my fashion career thus far. Alas, after more than ten years away from my home and family, I decided to return to Calgary and focus on my other passion of "buying." I've spent the past ten years purchasing for two major Canadian multi-store retailers.
Throughout the years, my spare time was spent helping family and friends shop for themselves, organize their closets, analyze their wardrobes, and style their homes. It was with constant persuasion, and overwhelming shopping and style requests, I realized that my part-time hobby was actually a "big business". You can’t read a fashion or entertainment magazine today (local or international) that doesn't include information on personal shoppers and stylists. Who says "you can’t buy taste?" I believe that you can without spending a "small fortune." You just have to be open to style. I've had constant confirmation on my personal style but more importantly, I want to inspire people to develop their own.
